Accidental natural makeup

Jordi of ItsLikelyMakeup posted a Throwback Thursday photo on Instagram a while back of her as a teenager in the go-to Scene Queen weird dolly makeup, and naturally instead of responding with what the fuck were we thinking, I was inspired and immediately wanted to recreate it.

Ahh!! I want to embed the actual IG but I can’t find it! It’s from December 2016. She posts a lot lol

Now my question is what the fuck were we using in 2006, because the above was what happened when I used what in my opinion, was an excessive amount of blush, and a coordinating lip color that seemed garishly pink. It looks downright natural. I think I own makeup that’s either of such better quality or has developed it’s own consciousness and minimalist aesthetic that it’s somehow directly/indirectly preventing me from charging up to max clown-level.

Halloween makeup, blood splatter nails, an ode to Gerard Way and Urban Decay’s Gash

Halloween zombie undead punk makeup

Straight up, Gerard Way’s eye makeup in My Chemical Romance’s “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” video was a game changer for me. By the time I was in my mid-teens I had every pot of silver-grey eyeshadow and every pitch black eyeliner that promised to stay on my inner rims that Sephora stocked, accumulated with the reckless abandon of someone desperately trying to spackle over a gaping emotional void and paying with their parents money.

Makeup Post: Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in 1993

image
Kind of obsessed with Urban Decay’s Vice line of lipsticks. There are so many of them. I never thought “more” would be a selling point, but walking up to their display feels like walking into a candy store, with the added benefit that you can find a color you like, then be like, ‘I want that, but more sheer’ or ‘in matte finish.’ Plus they’re cheap for a Sephora brand, and they’ve got their version of a lot of the hipster colors, the lilacs, the grieges, the weird 90s Kylie Jenner mauves like this one “1993” (gotta love the honesty.)
